We started making Sugarfree products in 1994.  This category now makes up almost 35% of our business.  In keeping with our philosophy of only the best, we have developed the highest and best tasting standards of Sugarfree products.

Sugarfree products are made without sugar.  Since we don't use sugar as a sweetener, we have to use something else.

All of Ultimate's Sugarfree products are sweetened with natural sources, not artificial (such as aspartame, nutrasweet, etc).

We have chosen two sweeteners called Maltitol and Hydrogenated Starch Hydrosylate, which are both derived from corn.  As with most top quality products, they are the most expensive and best tasting Sugarfree sweeteners on the market, which explains why most companies don't find them economical to use.

As in all Sugarfree products using Maltitol and its derivatives, their may be a mild laxative effect if too much is eaten at one time.  But the family of Maltitol and its derivatives have the lowest probability of laxation in sensitive individuals.

DIABETICS - Our Sugarfree chocolate products contain no sugar, therefore allowable in a diabetics diet on the advice of a physician.  Maltitol and its derivatives have a reduced glycemic response (how much your blood sugar rises) when compared to more commonly used sugars.

All of our Sugarfree products are made by hand in small batches to ensure their freshness.

Traditionally, there has been a negative connotation of Sugarfree products because of the "Bad Aftertaste."  Our products are so good, that most people can't tell that they are eating Sugarfree.  "SO GOOD, YOU'LL NEVER KNOW THEY ARE SUGARFREE."
